My understanding is that General McCausland was the last Confederate General to die. The other general (whose name I do not remember) was not offically a general at the end of the war. The way I remember the story is that the South surrendered before his promotion was offical.

According to Professor William Davis at Virginia Tech, General Felix Huston Robertson (March 9, 1839 – April 20, 1928) was appointed a brigadier general by President Davis, but the Senate rejected the appointment. However, he did hold the rank and, for a time, acted as a brigadier general, so conventional wisdom is that he qualifies, and he did outlive McCausland. McCausland, however, was the last general who had been confirmed by the Confederate Senate to die.
