Teays Valley

The Teays Valley, which sweeps across western West Virginia and southern Ohio, was abandoned by the disappearance of the ancient Teays River during the Pleistocene Epoch. The broad valley, now drained by other streams, has become in its West Virginia stretches the site for major suburban development. The Putnam County section of the valley, along the Interstate 64 corridor from Scott Depot to Hurricane, has been one of the fastest growing areas of the state in recent years.
