Important to this article is Post’s boyhood home, “Templemoor”, built in 1874. Still standing, it is located roughly 8 miles south of exit 115 off I-79 on Rt 20. The 2 1/2 story brick mansion constructed in the Italianate style was built for Melville’s father, Ira C. Post.
