Architects and Architecture of the West Virginia Coalfields

This traveling exhibit features architects and architecture of the coalfields of southern West Virginia. The exhibit will feature the careers of several prominent architects including Hassel Thomas Hicks and Alex B. Mahood who designed many of the buildings that were built in the region. The exhibit will also feature many prominent buildings designed by these men as well as the work of other architects.

Blue Suede Christmas at Chuck Mathena Center

Elvis is coming to the Chuck Mathena Center for the holidays! Scot Bruce, America’s premier Elvis tribute artist, will bring his show, Blue Suede Christmas to the Chuck Mathena Center on Friday, December 9 at 7pm. With his uncanny resemblance to Elvis, you will definitely want to hear the renditions of his Christmas songs including “Santa Bring My Baby Back” and “Blue Christmas.” The voice. The guitar. The swiveling hips. It’s Elvis all the way!
