EventsShare Letters From Liberia WVHC EventSeptember 21, 2017 Charles Town, Jefferson Using the African Colonization movement and 25 letters written (1831-1860) from its colony – Liberia – by Jefferson County African Americans, the program will offer a window into antebellum black life in Jefferson County and the varied and complex daily lives and views of black and white Jefferson Countians as the nation became more polarized over the issue of slavery. 7:00PM September 21 at Fishermen’s Hall in Charles Town.
